Be a Craft Fair Success

June 16, 2016 by Katie Smith Leave a Comment

Summer is a season of fairs and festivals, and if you’re a crafter, you’re probably gearing up for your next big craft fair. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a first-timer, you’re probably aware that these events can be hectic and challenging. If you want to make the most of your craft fair experience, it’s important to be prepared and informed. That’s where Heidi from Totally Snappy comes in with her top tips for being a craft fair success.

Heidi is a seasoned crafter and vendor who has been selling her handmade goods at craft fairs for years. She knows the ins and outs of what it takes to have a successful booth, and she’s generously sharing her knowledge with others. Her tips cover everything from preparing for the event to making sales and keeping customers engaged.

One of her first tips is to have a well-organized and visually appealing booth. Customers are drawn to booths that are well-lit, well-stocked, and easy to navigate. Make sure your products are displayed in an attractive and eye-catching way, and that your signage is clear and easy to read. Additionally, make sure your booth is clean, clutter-free, and inviting.

Another key tip is to engage with your customers. Smile, be friendly, and strike up a conversation. People are more likely to buy from someone they like and feel comfortable with. Offer to answer any questions they might have about your products, and be prepared to talk about your craft and your process. You never know who might be interested in learning more or placing a custom order.

Heidi also emphasizes the importance of having a wide range of products available. While it’s important to have a cohesive theme and style, offering a variety of products at different price points can help you attract more customers. This can include everything from small, affordable items like keychains and magnets to larger, more expensive pieces like quilts or furniture.

Other tips include having a clear pricing structure, offering special deals or promotions, and staying organized and efficient throughout the event. By following these tips and putting in the effort to create a great booth and connect with customers, you can increase your chances of having a successful and profitable craft fair experience.
