Today, whilst browsing through some wonderful, local galleries, I came across part of Catherine Foster’s Peace Prevails Project. Catherine’s works of art are beyond amazing–she paints, embosses with hand carved wooden plates, weaves, and sculpts copper sheets into amazing forms, like the above kimono or Gloria, Maiden of Peace below. Both works are embossed with the words “peace” and “peace prevails” in several world languages, helping to spread her message: “I know within my heart and soul that Peace Prevails and is spoken in many languages.” Really, these photos cannot do her work justice. Seeing Gloria in all her glory–she’s over 6′ tall–with her beautiful colors in the sunlight was a moment of pure magic. You can check out her other works here online, or in person at the fabulous Liberty Bay Gallery!
