If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at watercolor painting and don’t know where to start, Jaime of Barks Blog has an excellent video tutorial that walks you through creating these pretty state map art prints. Jaime breaks everything down into easy to follow steps and carefully walks you through the more technical parts (I legitimately did not know how to apply frisket, but I’m pretty confident I could now.) I love when artists share tutorials that help demystify the world of art. Letting people see that you can create beautiful pieces of art relatively simply does two things: firstly, it gives beginners a chance to make something beautiful, which is encouraging; secondly, it gives them a greater appreciation for the time and effort put in to creating more complex works, like these beautiful coffee paintings!
