Looking for something to do with broken china? Yee Sookyung had an interesting idea–transform the fragments into wholes, called Translated Vases. The works are created using ceramic trash, cast off and broken pieces from a Korean ceramics master. The artist then puzzles them together, covering the seams with 24 karat gold leaf. The resulting objects are organically shaped, full of curves and angles, and surprisingly beautiful. You can see more of the work here, on Yee Sookyung’s website. Maybe it will inspire a new project, the next time you break a cup or plate!
