If you’ve ever tried to create a toy to entertain a child, you know that it’s not an easy thing. Toys are one part design, one part enchantment. Which is why the MOMA exhibit Century of the Child: Growing by Design is not just another art exhibit. The collection features children’s playthings from 1900s to 1990s, a span that Etsy Blogger Chappell Ellison writes about in-depth in the Etsy blog article Examining the Child at Play. If you’re like me and will not have any chance to see this exhibit, check out the interactive version on the MOMA website and decide for yourself.
