Jennifer wrote to tell me about her latest photo collection. “Let me take a minute and introduce you to my newest set of flower photographs just in time for spring. Currently the collection includes roses, calla lilies, tulips, and gerberas. These contemporary images look great in dining rooms, living areas, bedrooms, and offices, and can be produced as large as 24×30 inches or as small as 4×6 inches.” Her work can be viewed at www.jennifersquires.ca and is available for sale via Etsy at www.jennifersquires.etsy.com. What a great way to start spring with a lovely floral photo or two on your walls!

Being at Maker Faire made me realize what an awesome genre of fashion Steampunk is. There were lots of faire attendees in full gear as well as a few of my fellow Bazaar Bizarre vendors. I met some awesome crafters who work in this style. One artist who came to my booth was Hellga Volldampf of Steampunkdelic.etsy.com. She was wearing various examples of her work. I fell in love with a handmade polymer clay brain pin that looks similar to this pendant:

And my husband and I both noticed her glittering Opal Trilobyte brooch. The clay would shine with beautiful bronze glitter and the whimsical clockwork mechanisms make it even more fascinating!

This past weekend while at Maker Faire I saw the ever friendly Kathy Cano-Murillo AKA the Craft Chica! She was sporting these beautiful paper flowers out of tissue paper and rubber stamps. The tutorial is on her site HERE.

CFC-HQ is temporarily closing down the shop as of July 1, and they need your help clearing out the store between now and then.

They’re offering 75% off everything– all you have to do is type “BUYSTUFF” (no quote marks) in the voucher box of the shopping cart and click “recalculate.” Pick something up for Mother’s Day, a friend’s birthday…do a little early Christmas shopping…get something from yourself. We would like to see all of these handmade items benefit greyhound rescue, if possible.

I was inspired by Recycled Craft Gossip’s post Vintage Utensil Bracelet. So I decided to search out some Indie crafters on Etsy who were doing similar work. Love these beautiful cuff breaclets from wildfirewench. Or check out this upcycled spoon pendant by Dittman. Very simple and elegant. A steal at $8.00!
