Indie Craft Fair – Hand MADE Montana

August 13, by Shellie Wilson. Leave a Comment

13th Annual Missoula Summer MADE Fair Offers Much More Than Crafts

All-day alternative market offers handmade crafts from regional artists, family activities,  and all sorts of creative indulgences at Caras Park in downtown Missoula, MT

MISSOULA, MONTANA (AUGUST 2021) – Missoula’s summer MADE Fair is more  than your ordinary arts and craft market – and in its 13th year, it will be bigger and better  than ever.

The Missoula Summer MADE fair is a modern handcrafted open-air market featuring  local and regional artists at Caras Park in downtown Missoula, MT on Sunday, August,  2021. In its thirteenth year, it will showcase over 165 artists as well as a handful of non profits and a delicious collection of local food & beverages.

Traditionally craft fairs consist of the same-old-same-old items—doilies, crocheted  Barbie doll dresses, wood burned signs for your front door, or cheesy bedazzled bags.  The Missoula summer MADE fair is different, featuring over 165 local and regional  artists from a variety of backgrounds including the hip-n-cool regulars from the Saturday  People’s Market and fresh-n-new artisans who were selected to participate through a  jurying process. We received over 250 applications this year, and are featuring the best  with lots of new and exciting talent to be showcased at our summer event. You will see  stylish handmade clothing, handcrafted jewelry, metal recycled sculptures, unique  illustrations on wood, colorful paintings, to-die-for hand bags, skirts made from recycled  t-shirts, screen-printed tees, ceramics, re-worked vintage jewelry, and that special one-of a-kind something that you (or your mom, sister, or friend) can’t live without. We’re pretty  sure that whether you are a creative type or a local connoisseur of all that is hip you will  enjoy the selection and atmosphere at the summer Missoula MADE fair.

We have all been impacted in some way by Covid-19. All of our events and several others  around the state are in jeopardy of being canceled due to the recent surge of cases of  those that are not vaccinated. This year, Missoula City-County Health Department will  have a mobile vaccine clinic on-site during the show, and accessible to anyone wanting  one. More information can be found at missoulainfo.com. Covid vaccines are important,  and we strongly encourage efforts to support the health of our community.

Event Details:

Date: Sunday, August 22, 2021

Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“The MADE Fair presents a wonderful opportunity to purchase local crafts and art, but  it’s also so much more than that,” said fair presenter and REcreate Designs owner Carol  Lynn Lapotka. “It’s a day of fun and a place for families and people of all ages. It’s a  chance to shop, run into friends, and support local artists and organizations. We hope that  in its tenth year it has become a summer tradition for many Montana families.”
