We mentioned the Accuquilt face mask die cuts a few months ago and to be honest I was hoping I wouldn’t be talking about masks, again 3 months later. It seems we are not progressing away from them afterall.
If you are making masks to sell or donate then you HAVE to check out this system.
Maybe you are lucky enough to have an Accuquilt system and know how they work, if not let me tell you a little.
Basically it is a stencil, that you place the fabric into and then run through a machine to automatically cut out that shape. In this case, it is facemasks but originally designed for quilt making.
The basic machine to use these face mask diecuts with is around $299 and then the templates which are around $50-$80. So your initial layout is going to be around $400-$500. That may seem like a lot but when you break that down into masks, it is not a great deal to start earning your money back.
You can cut 6 layers of fabric in one single pass with the machine, that is lightning fast.
The GO! DIY Face Mask features three shapes for the outside of the mask, the lining and strip for fabric ties. The curved design helps the mask fit securely and comfortably over the nose and mouth, and comes in three sizes, small/child, medium/women and large/men. Note that each size is a separate die and must be purchased separately. The mask is simple to sew following our free directions.
