17 Places to Sell Your Crafts

June 29, 2018 by Shellie Wilson Leave a Comment

Here’s a list of 17 places you can turn to when you’re ready to become a handmade entrepreneur. From marketplaces to online shops and even craft fairs, you can get started today making money doing something you love! Read the Full Article here.

and here is my two cents worth –

The first option that comes to mind to me,  is selling your handmade items on online marketplaces such as Etsy, Amazon Handmade, and eBay. These platforms allow you to set up a shop and start selling your products to a global audience. The great thing about these marketplaces is that they handle most of the logistics for you, from processing payments to shipping your products to customers. You just need to focus on creating your handmade products and marketing them to potential buyers.

Another option for selling your handmade items is to set up your own online store using platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, or Squarespace. These platforms provide you with the tools and templates to create a professional-looking online store without the need for any technical expertise. You’ll have complete control over your store, including the design, products, pricing, and shipping. But you will need to do your own marketing.

If you prefer to sell your handmade items in person, you can look into local craft fairs, farmer’s markets, and pop-up shops. These events provide an opportunity for you to showcase your products to a local audience and make sales on the spot. It’s also a great way to connect with other makers and get feedback on your products.

Another option for selling your handmade items is through consignment shops and galleries. These are retail stores that display and sell your products on your behalf. The store takes a percentage of the sale price, but this can be a good option if you don’t want to deal with the hassle of setting up your own shop or selling at events.

If you’re looking to expand your reach, you can also consider selling your handmade items on wholesale. This means you’ll be selling your products to retail stores at a discounted price, and they’ll sell your items to their customers. This can be a great way to reach a larger audience and increase your sales volume.

Finally, if you’re interested in teaching others how to make handmade items, you can offer workshops or online courses. This can be a great way to share your expertise and earn money at the same time.
