Etsy announced this back in April but starting today Etsy is now allowing Manufacturers on etsy to partner with handmade businesses. Here’s a good blurb about this from the folks over at The Verge:
Six months after Etsy completed an IPO that valued it at $3.5 billion, the craft marketplace is expanding. The company is introducing Etsy Manufacturing, a new service that will link Etsy sellers — who often make items by hand — with small manufacturing companies. The operation is designed to help both sellers who’ve found success but have little time to fulfill larger orders, and smaller manufacturers, some of whom have lost business to huge manufacturers in countries where labor is cheaper.
How do you feel about this? I think it will really only affect the etsy businesses that have outgrown themselves and really cannot make everything themselves anymore.
Do you think Etsy is still the “Handmade Marketplace”?

Ms. Scarlet says
I am not at all happy about this. I have seen more than one store selling not handmade items I can find on Alibaba. I have only a few items listed in my store at this time and will be trying Amazon Handmade. It may be big business Amazon but this site will be strictly handmade and that is what I want for my selling platform.
Etsy is a done thing for me.
