Interview with Tenika from Indie Craft Sampler

April 2, 2015 by Katie Smith Leave a Comment

ics
Hey everyone, today I am excited to have Tenika, the found of Indie Craft Sampler here answering a few fun questions and giving us a peek into her artist life!
First, What is Indie Craft Sampler? Indie Craft Sampler is a monthly subscription box that focuses on indie crafters (like us)! Each month a new box can be mailed to you full of handcrafted goods & services.
The boxes are $27 + free shipping with a retail of $50-$80 (for USA, slightly more for international) and you can choose if you want your samples cute/girlie, traditional, kitschy/geeky, or a mix! I really like that you can choose! Each box is unique & will contain a random cool mix of at least 12 items of the style you request.
I’ve reviewed the Indie Craft Sampler here on the blog before but today we’re getting to know the lady behind the sampler!
Who are you? Are you an Indie Artist/Do you sell you handmade items? My name is Tenika or “Neeka”. Yes I am an indie artist- my favorite medium is mixed media collage & digital collage, I also love photography as well. Right now I am not selling my art. I had a shop online for 8 years & wanted to do something different. I know the next step is to start my own website for it & it’s on the to-do list in the future. Right now it’s more fun for me to market other people… 🙂
Why did you start Indie Craft Sampler? I started the sampler because of one that I participated in back in the day. It was so much fun. I loved participating in them & receiving them. It was not curated, you received a selection straight from the artists themselves. I also wanted to be able to have an outlet where any handmade medium can be showcased…not just a certain category. All handmade is welcome with us.
What does the term “Indie” mean to you? A unique vision that does not have to answer to anyone else but the maker themselves.
What is your favorite type of crafting? As I said before my mixed media collage, digital collage, photo manipulation, paper crafts, painting…
What is your favorite color? Red.

Thanks Neeka, for answering a few fun questions! YOU can learn more about Indie Craft Sampler here:
