Review- Mixed Media Doll Stencils

February 12, 2015 by Katie Smith 3 Comments

Today I wanted to let you know about a cool new product I heard about at the Craft and Hobby Association show last month! The Mixed Media Doll Stencils by Mahe Zehra. What are they?

“The Mixed Media Paper Doll Stencils make it super easy to create beautiful collage and mixed media dolls. Choose from a variety of body forms, dresses and accessories to create your masterpiece. Each doll dress comes as a collage stencil making it easy for you to use scraps of paper to create beautiful dolls.”

Mahe shares some videos and tutorials that will guide you on your mixed media doll journey.

I used the stencils to create a cute little doll to add into my art journal. I started by tracing through the stencils onto a piece of book paper. The stencils are separate (like the torso, the arms, legs, etc are all separate.) so if you want to make a moving paper doll, it’s easy to do so. I didn’t want mine to move, so I traced all of my stencils together and then cut out the 1 body.

The stencils come with different dresses, hairstyles, etc that you can choose from. They don’t come with stencils for “pants”, but I guess I could use the leg stencil, without the foot for that.

These stencils are perfect for the artist that loves using dolls, or girls on their projects! It would also be fantastic to use with kids, I think! I don’t have any kids, but I think making paper dolls would be a fun mother/daughter project!
Overall, I think these are pretty cool! Paper dolls in 4 steps!
You can purchase the stencils on amazon here.
