While spell checking my post on Monday, I stumbled across this lovely explanation/tutorial on silk painting. Silk painting can create beautiful works of wearable art, but it can also be intimidating (Silk is expensive! What if I ruin it?). Dharma Trading Co.’s website has a fabulous beginner’s guide, along with several extra articles expanding your knowledge of specific silk painting topics, like what whether gutta or water-soluble resist is better for your project and how to steam set a silk painting in your kitchen. And there are lists of ideas for different projects, pictures of works from featured artists, and articles of the history of the art. Definitely something to bookmark for handy reference.
