Olga Ziemska is a craft artist worthy of a long look. I spent some time browsing through her portfolio of projects, all of which elevate whatever craft she’s used to create her beautiful and moving works of 3 dimensional art. The above image is of a sculptural installation called “Matka.” Matka is built entirely of locally sourced wood, bound into the shape of a female form, an expression of the essential-ness of the country the statue resides in. This Matka was created for the Daejeon Museum in Korea, but you can see others on Ziemska’s site. Check it out!
