Tiny art directors are the best! The artist gets the concept from his daughter, executes it and then gets a critique, sometimes to the tune of, “I’m sorry to say that you’re worser than me. You gotta learn to draw as me. You just don’t draw so well. Why do you think that is? It turns out that I’m the good draw-er. It turns out that you’re the art director.”
Sometimes there must be a complete do-over and the critiques are very funny. You can buy prints of Bill Zeman’s work on his shop web site here and in 2210 Chronicle Books will be releasing the book.
