Make It Mine Magazine: Will you accept the challenge?

March 27, 2008 by Jamie 4 Comments

What wild, weird or simply unpurselike thing have you turned into a purse? A few months ago, Make It Mine magazine editor Linda Augsburg walked into her office to find a small pair of Nightmare Before Christmas jeans on her desk. Attached to the jeans was a note from Cathy Jakicic, editor of BeadStyle magazine — another craft title from Kalmbach Publishing Co.:

“Good morning!
“Please help turn me into a purse for Cathy.
“Love,
“Small Pair of Jeans”

The letter inspired the Make It Mine staff to wonder, “What wild, weird, or simply unpurselike thing have our readers turned into a purse?” So, on the back page of the spring issue, you’ll find the first official Make It Mine reader challenge. The idea is simple: Transform something (anything) into a fabulous purse. Readers can submit their own creations and vote for their favorite designs. The top three vote getters will receive a $75 Visa gift card. Voting ends June 18, 2008. For details, visit the Purse Challenge gallery at www.MakeItMineMag.com.
