I have been a fan of Melissa Contreras work for the last couple years. A native Californian, Melissa currently resides in Fresno, CA. She worked for many years as a graphic designer, but now Melissa works mostly with gouache and acrylics, sometimes applying them to sculpted forms. Her works and latest news can be found at her web shop Axelhoney. She makes adorable cooshee and mooshee figurines, all lovingly hand painted with a cuteness that can’t be compared! She also has prints and t-shirts all of which can be found on her Etsy shop. My personal pick would be one of her Skooshee creations, just in time for one of my all time favorite holidays Dia de los muertos!
