Carmen from The Artcademy wrote up 5 tips for writing and artist statement. She says: “Recently I decided to submit a canvas to a gallery for an exhibit call. I had my pictures ready and I felt confident about the piece I was submitting. But, then I read that I needed to submit an artist statement. A what? What is an artist statement. Well, I quickly learned that if I wanted to continue submitting my work to galleries and fine art shows, I needed a strong artist statement.”
