Jeremy Mayer is taking unconventional material sculpture to new levels. Mayer builds large, intricate sculptures entirely out of typewriter parts, without gluing, soldering, welding, or adding things not found in typewriters. It might sound simple, but there’s nothing simple about these pieces. Check out the scale of his Nude in the photo below. (In case you’re wondering, that’s the artist sitting next to it.) His subject matter is typically organic in nature, people or animals, and is craftily juxtaposed against the industrial materials. You can see more of his work here on his website.
