Spanish artist Lorenzo Duran takes the art of paper cutting to a whole new level. How? He cuts fallen leaves instead of paper. Each leaf is washed, dried, pressed, and then a paper pattern is applied before it is cut. After it’s cut, the paper pattern is oh-so-carefully removed, a process which can ruin the entire piece if not done properly. It’s a process that makes every piece unique though–a miniature masterpiece. The detail level in these designs is so impressive, they really have to be seen to be believed. You can see the cut leaves here or read more about Duran’s process here. (In English or in Spanish!)
