I just came across this post on how to “Color like a Pro” and I thought it had some really great tips as well as ideas on what to do with your coloring book pages after you have finished coloring them. As someone who loves to color and create coloring sheet projects, I’ve learned a few tips and tricks along the way to achieve a professional finish. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re looking to improve your skills, here are my top five tips for getting a polished and refined final product:

Choose the right paper:  This is only suitable if you are printing your own design.

The type of paper you use can make all the difference in achieving a professional look. I recommend using a heavier weight paper, such as cardstock, as it will not only hold up better to coloring, but also prevent any bleed-through from markers or other coloring tools. 

Plan your color scheme: Before you start coloring, take a few moments to plan out your color scheme. Think about the overall mood or theme you want to convey and choose colors that complement each other. You can also experiment with different color combinations to create unique effects.

Practice shading and blending: Shading and blending are two techniques that can really elevate your coloring sheet projects. Practice adding depth and dimension to your images by using light and dark shades of the same color, or by blending different colors together with a blending tool.
