Hey friends, today I wanted to share with you something that I think is wonderful. As artists, we love giving handmade gifts, and giving in general, right? I love seeing artists giving back to artists in order to foster the crafts community, and that’s what I wanted to tell you about today.
Specifically about Creativebug.com, the first-ever video subscription site for DIY art and craft instruction, who gives 5% of its revenue to non-profit art education and has recently supported Warm Up America!, Southern Exposure, Scrap and Ruth’s Table.
They say: At the core of our mission is giving a percentage of all subscriptions to non-profit art programs that provide affordable space, supplies and education. This year we are supporting four amazing not-for-profit organizations that cross the spectrum of making.
You can learn more about them and how they’re giving back here: Creativebug Gives Back to Art Education Programs – Creativebug Blog
I would love to hear how you give back in the creative community. Do you join in with pillowcase drives, or crochet hats? Or is it something different like supporting artists on Small Business Saturday?
Brenda Ackerman says
I belong to a Project Linus Guild in the town I live in. We distribute mainly quilts, hats and slippers but quite a few other items throughout our county. We have approx. 30 members and just this month alone we contributed 75 quilts alone plus other items to be given to homeless people, Foster Care, Fire loss and so much more. It is wonderful to give and great that you support back!
