The book, Glitterville, looks great and creative enough to start a whole new tradition. The one tradition from my family is to share a Christmas Eve meal, especially like that of “The Feast of the Seven Fishes”. Such a special Italian tradition and yummy, too.

My favorite tradition is having my son put the star on the top of the tree. I have pictures from every year and he turned 18 this year. I don’t know what I’m going to do when he leaves home next year for the United States Marine Corps.

Growing up we never had any kind of Christmas traditions. I knew, when I started my own family it would be very different. When my children were young, I made a big deal about having a wonderful scrumptious “All out” Christmas breakfast. Now that they are older, we are still getting together, no matter what, to have “our special Christmas breakfast.” This will always be a fond memory for me.
Thanks for letting me share, and for the chance to win that great book!

My favorite tradition is getting new ornaments for the tree that the kids each pick out, & I like picking out a new nutcracker each year, sometimes more than one.

My favorite Christmas tradition is the weekend after Black Friday- after we have gotten shopping out of our systems, that weekend we decorate the tree- remembering all the stories and the history of each decoration. Truly wonderful family time!

  14. Christine Miller says

    October 19, 2014 at 7:04 pm

The afternoon my son and I decorate the tree we also spend it watching “It’s Christmas, Charlie Brown”, with lots of hot chocolate.

Our traditions gather in our tree – it’s filled with ornaments from when my 85 yr old mom was a little girl, to ornaments my sister & I made when we were little – which are blown eggs we decorated & we’re so amazed they’re still intact – through my children’s ornaments from PreK on up to their current adult-hood. Each year is like the first time we’ve ever seen them & we laugh through our tears as the memories fill our nights. This will be our last full family Christmas as my mom is moving several states away for twilight years. It will be hard, but the memories will always glisten on our trees.
