From a wonderful world where things sparkle and shine,
Here’s a fabulous book for Christmas time.
Glitterville is the place you know,
Where you can create anything from wreaths to snow.
Stephen Brown guides you through the whimsical crafts,
With photos, tricks, and quite a few laughs.
Glitterville’s Handmade Christmas is stuffed with 20 fabulous winter crafts that will spice up any home for the holidays.
I received a copy of the book Glitterville’s Handmade Christmas by Stephen Brown from Andrews McMeel Publishing for review. It’s filled with not only amazing Christmas crafts, but fun little poems/stories like the above as well!
The beginning of the book has a “Glitter Guide” which includes lists of materials, basic tutorials for things like making paper cones, applying glitter, working with paperclay, etc. After that section you get into the gorgeous and whimsical project tutorials! I personally love the Glitter Village, Sparkle Forest and the Wacky Woods Felt Ornaments!
The photography in this book is just gorgeous and really captures how fun the projects are and the holiday spirit. In my opinion, this book is definitely a keeper and will be going on my bookshelf.
A fun fact included in the book is that the final 20 projects published in this book were chosen from more than 100 of Stephen’s favorite Christmas crafts!

I love everything about the fall and winter holidays and the magic that surrounds each and every one of them. When my children were small I wanted them to experience the magic I always felt and still do( always a kid). One thing they use to do was to leave goodies for Santa and his reindeer along with a letter of thanks or another plea about how good they have been. As the years went on the belief in Santa faded and one year my son told his sister that Santa was really me and he had proof because the thank you letters Santa always left was in my handwriting. I was a little sad knowing that this magic of Christmas eve was being soon out grown. So that year I wrote a very long letter to them from Santa explaining that Christmas is magic in its own right and can never end and believing in Santa might be a little childish but the love of the season is from life friends and family that are together in it. That their believing in me (Santa) might be childish but the love and magic will always be with them. I also wrote all of that with my opposite hand and the handwriting was way different…..It was sad to see that my little ones were growing older but the look on their face getting a letter in strange writing and about something they thought was a secret conversation was as one would say PRICELESS……and in mine and my childrens’ heart magic of the holidays was there embedded forever……..Thanks for your site you provide I enjoy each one…Paula
