Normally, spilling red wine on pristine white cotton would be cause for alarm and Stain Stick. For Amelia Fais Harnas though, spilling red wine onto fabric, in conjunction with batik wax resist techniques is a masterful form of art. Harnas corrals the temperamental dye into familiar shapes and shadows, conjuring portraits from them with the help of embroidery and stitching. Absolutely stunning, I’ll bet it makes you think twice about that stain in the tablecloth. Check out more of her gorgeous work here at Truly Amelia.
