Wise Craft by Blair Stocker is a craft book all about the handmade life, turning old things into special new objects to enhance the home. Wise Craft is based on the popular blog of the same name. Instead of throwing away old shirts and boring dishes, Author Blair Stocker teaches how to remake them.

What I loved about Wise Craft is that it is divided into 4 seasonal chapters, with crafts that reflect the different seasons and holidays. There are 60 total projects in this book and over 180 pages. I love a good, thick craft book. My favorite chapter is of course the Fall chapter because I love any Autumn themed projects. All of the 4 chapters are full of handmade goodness, with lots of recycling/restyled tutorials.

Although there aren’t step-by-step pictures, I think the photography in the book is extremely well styled. While step-by-step photos are always nice, I think Blair does a good job of explaining the tutorials without them.

This book is definitely going in my stash of craft books to keep. If you want to win a copy of Wise Craft, please leave me a comment with your name and email!

Entries close July 7th, 2014. US residents only.

Love watching for and exploring your posts on Facebook. Have found a number of them useful and have forwarded a large number to my niece and Sister-in-law who are both beginning to sew. They are really enjoying your info when I send it to them because they both do not have much time to spend on the computer and learn to sew! (something I have been doing for over 50 years). Thanks again for all your hard work finding the great info for us.
